چکیده
While the abundance of elemental deuterium is relatively low (D/H ~ a few 1E-5), orders magnitude higher D/H ratios have been found for many interstellar molecules, enhanced by fractionation. In cold molecular clouds (T < 20K) fractionation driven H2D+ ion, whereas at temperatures > 20-30K) gas-phase deuteration controlled reactions with CH2D+ and C2HD+. role in driving chemistry well understood, thanks to observational constraints from direct measurements H2D+, stemming far less caused absence its key ions. Therefore, making use chemical surrogates imperative exploring intermediate temperatures. Formed an early stage ion-molecule chemistry, directly dissociative recombination CH3+ (CH2D+), CH (CD) ideal tracer investigating substitution initiated CH2D+. This paper reports first detection CD medium, carried out using APEX 12m telescope toward widely studied low-mass protostellar system IRAS 16293-2422. Gas-phase models reproducing observed CD/CH ratio 0.016 suggests that it reflects `warm chemistry' (which ensues moderately warm conditions medium) illustrates potential constraining gas envelope probes.

Interstellar Triply Deuterated Ammonia
Research on interstellar ND3 is reviewed and updated from the discovery papers. Results from observations of a dozen sources at centimeter and submillimeter wavelengths are presented. The two data sets are consistent, but do not constrain the excitation conditions in the ND3emitting gas. The column density ratios of NH3/NH2D, NH2D/ND2H and ND3/ND2H, observed in similar sized beams, are ≈10, and...
متن کاملFirst detection of triply-deuterated methanol
We report the first detection of triply-deuterated methanol, with 12 observed transitions, towards the low-mass protostar IRAS 16293−2422, as well as multifrequency observations of CH3OH, used to derive the column density of the main isotopomer CH3OH. The derived fractionation ratio [CD3OH]/[CH3OH] averaged on a 10′′ beam is 1.4%. Together with previous CH2DOH and CHD2OH observations, the prese...
متن کاملDetection of in the Diffuse Interstellar Medium: the Galactic Center
Absorption lines of have been detected in the spectra of two infrared sources in the Galactic 3 center and also toward the heavily reddened star Cygnus OB2 No. 12, whose line of sight is believed to include only di†use interstellar gas. The absorptions toward the Galactic center sources (IRS 3 and GCS 3-2) probably are due to both in di†use gas and in molecular clouds. The ratios of line equiva...
متن کاملDetection of H 3 1 in the Diffuse Interstellar Medium
The molecular ion H3 1 is considered the cornerstone of interstellar chemistry because it initiates the reactions responsible for the production of many larger molecules. Recently discovered in dense molecular clouds, H3 1 has now been observed in the diffuse interstellar medium toward Cygnus OB2 No. 12. Analysis of H3 1 chemistry suggests that the high H3 1 column density (3.8 3 10 per square ...
متن کاملThe Local Interstellar Medium
Substantial progress in the field of the Local Interstellar Medium has been largely due to recent launches of space missions, mostly in the UV and X–ray domains, but also to ground-based observations, mainly in high resolution spectroscopy. However, a clear gap seems to remain between the wealth of new data and the theoretical understanding. This paper gives an overview of some observational as...
